WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN THE YUBA-SUTTER PICKLEBALL CLUB?
First and foremost, membership allows you to play at either Sam Brannan park during good weather or at Home Court, where, because we are indoors, we can beat the rain and other inclement weather. Our Facebook page always updates play locations. Home Court only offers Pickleball to members of our Club. Their facility is top notch and with up to date, modern equipment, they offer the best Pickleball experience in the region. Other benefits of Club membership include:
Single membership: $45.00/year.
Family membership: $75.00/year.
Membership fees are due each January 1 and must be paid by February 1. All new members who sign up after June 1 shall pay 1/2 of the appropriate membership fee. Any new member that signs up after September 30, their membership dues shall include the following year.
COST TO PLAY:
Home Court charges a $5 facility fee for play, including drop-ins. While we are outdoors at Sam Brannan Park, there is no charge for use of City of Yuba City facilities.
A guest may play as a guest of the Club without becoming a member of the Club, but must pay the "drop in" fee at Home Court. A local guest must join the Club after 2 plays as a "guest" to continue to play. Out of town residents are welcome to drop in and are not required to join the Club.
WHY WAS IT NECESSARY TO FORM A DUES-BASED CLUB TO PLAY?
Home Court is in the basketball business and not the Pickleball business. While they are willing to give us access and exclusive Club times to play, they did not want to commit the time, employees and resources to manage Pickleball. We do have to provide an insurance policy to play at either location We are required to be responsible to purchase our own equipment and supply volunteers to run Club play and events. A dedicated group of volunteers has agreed to take on these additional responsibilities so that Pickleball can grow and continue to thrive in our community. Money collected from membership dues and play fees at Sam Brannan Park goes towards purchasing and maintenance of Club equipment and the administrative requirements of running the Club. In addition, we are partnering with the City of Yuba City in the construction of a new modern 8-court Pickleball complex, expected to be completed by the end of the year. We are committed to hosting tournaments two (2) time per year as well as providing ongoing capital improvement funds to assist in the maintenance and replacement of the structures of the new courts. We ask for your support by becoming a member.
